Lucy Albertina Sarah Martha Toogood SWIRE (1835 - 1908)

Lucy Albertina Sarah Martha Toogood SWIRE was the sixth daughter of Roger SWIRE and Frances Lydia COX. She was born on 07 April 1835 in Jamaica, probably Portland Parish.

She was married on 08 January 1865 to Rev. David Rieussett LITTLEJOHN, who was the Anglican Rector of Falmouth Parish at the time of his marriage. LITTLEJOHN was listed as the Island Curate at Kingston in the 1851 Jamaica Almanac.

Lucy SWIRE and the Rev. LITTLEJOHN had at least three children: Henry Cyrill LITTLEJOHN, Herbert Melville LITTLEJOHN and Aubrey LITTLEJOHN.

David LITTLEJOHN died while on a voyage to England in the summer of 1869.

Lucy SWIRE LITTLEJOHN died on 15 September 1908. Her death was noted in the Times of London newspaper for Thursday, 05 October 1908 as follows:
LITTELJOHN - On the morning of Tuesday, the 15th Sept. 1908, at the residence of her son, H. Melville LITTELJOHN, Tantallon, Manhattan-road, parish of St. Andrew, Jamaica, Lucy, widow of the late Rev. D. R. LITTELJOHN, Rector of Trelawney, and fifth daughter of Roger SWIRE, J. P., of county York, England, and the parish of Portland, Jamaica.
