Augustus "Gus" SWIRE (1838 - 1874) Augustus SWIRE was the fifth son of Roger SWIRE and Frances Lydia COX of Yorkshire, England, St. Vincent, West Indies, and the Portland area of Jamaica. He was born on 18 April 1838 at Norwich, Portland Parish, Jamaica. His birth is recorded in his mother's bible and the records of Portland Parish, Jamaica in Parish Register Volume 4, Folio 319/323. He is listed in the 1860 Jamaica Register of Voters for St. George Parish.
Family letters contain many mentions of Augustus "Gus" SWIRE, including his
