Search World War II Enlistment Records Free Online
It took years to make it happen, but one of the newest online databases on the National Archives website contains long-awaited military records. It includes the names of nine million Americans who saw service in World War II, both in the United States Army and the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps.
The database can be searched on the National Archives website via its Access to Archival Databases (AAD) and documents the period 1938 - 1946.
If you find an ancestor listed in these files, you’ll gain access to, among other information; their Army serial number, place, date and term of enlistment, education level, birthplace, and civil occupation.
