New Family Tree Maker Coming in August, Beta Now Available

new-family-tree-maker-coming-in-august-beta-now-available.jpgThe newest version of Family Tree Maker genealogy software has been released in a public beta test form for everyone to try. Ancestry.com says while the beta test is free, it will not function after the program goes on sale in August.

Anyone who downloads the program needs to keep in mind that you will need to save that data by creating a GEDCOM export before August 24th.

Another thing to be aware of is that the automatic web search feature is on by default in the beta program. That means any information will be transmitted automatically from your tree to Ancestry.com in order to search for relevant records. You must disable this feature by clicking on the options link in the tools menu.
